Maria Medina's attraction to things that light up our lives with colour and texture has resulted in a collection of objects that fill the shelves and walls of her small studio. Comfortably nestled in amongst her flea market finds, she studies their form, surface and colour with an eye to create perfect relationships betweem them. Not unlike theatre sets, the objects that she arranges into still lifes set the stage for the visual narratives found in her photo realistic paintings.
